She has provided planning, management, and development for organizations and programs such as the National Collegiate Athletic Association’s Final 4 Men’s Basketball Championship, the Vatican’s World Youth Day, the U.S. Figure Skating Association’s National Championships and Skate With U.S. program, the original national product roll-out of K.C. Masterpiece Barbecue Sauce, the Girl Scouts of the U.S.A., along with planning and facilitating hundreds of community and people-based programs throughout the United States. She has been President/CEO of SEAFAIR, Seattle's premiere festival of Northwest lifestyle. She has served as Director of Events for the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation at Taliesin West in Scottsdale, AZ. As an independent contractor, she has served as director of the Tempe Festivals of the Arts, the Fantasy of Lights Parade and Fantasy of Lights Boat Parade, and currently works as Sponsorship Manager for all Downtown Tempe Authority public events in Tempe, AZ.
Kate has consulted multiple downtowns throughout Arizona and served the Colorado Small Business Administration by offering marketing workshops in small, rural communities. She has presented marketing and promotion classes at Regis University Nonprofit Leadership Management School, the University of Colorado School of Business, and Arizona State University School of Community Resources and Development.

Her direct, practical experience in promotional programming began with downtown development and marketing as promotion manager for Downtown Council of Kansas City, Missouri. She was Vice President of Marketing for Downtown Denver Partnership in Denver, Colorado, during Denver's downtown revitalization and the redevelopment of Lower Downtown (LoDo).
She has been Vice President of Marketing for Downtown Tempe Community in Tempe, Arizona; and, served as Interim Executive Director of Downtown Mesa Association in Mesa, Arizona with strategic planning, budgeting, marketing, fundraising, promotion, events, clean and safe, parking, and executive search responsibilities.
